At K4B world we were happy to go on a Plogging drive in the Al Qudra area. Plogging is a socially conscious fitness activity. That’s the idea behind “plogging,” a new environmentally conscious fitness trend where people pick up rubbish while on a run. According to The Washington Post, this exercise-meets-eco-friendly activity started in Sweden and has since spread—primarily via social media—throughout Europe and into the U.S., Mexico, and beyond. On Instagram alone, there are now more than 10,000 posts tagged #plogging, which is a combination of “jogging” and “plocka upp” (Swedish for “pick up”)activity .
We decided to go on a cycle through the Al Qudra desert picking up trash left by campers overnight. The added benefit of this drive is that by collecting the plastic bags and cans from the desert , we were able to ensure that camels are not mistaking them for food and eating them!
The next time you go on a jogging trip , or take a walk in your neighbourhood or decide to go cycling, you could pick up garbage bag and put on a pair of gloves. You’ll be surprised at how much trash you can pick up within a short distance.
Dont forget to put your trash in for recycling at the nearest centre.
